This tour heads north from Cape Town, up the Cape's West Coast - renowned for its seascapes, stark coastal plain beauty, seafood and hospitality. This area is also famous for its colourful displays of spring flowers (August to October). The tour’s highlights include the West Coast National Park, the cool aqua-blue waters of the Langebaan Lagoon and the afternoon options of visiting a fascinating fossil park or a San people (the Cape's earliest inhabitants) cultural experience. The first stop is a visit to the West Coast National Park to experience fantastic views of the sea and Langebaan Lagoon - carpets of beautiful wild flowers can be seen in season. Lunch (cost not included) will be at a restaurant right on the lagoon edge, with seafood and traditional dishes being the speciality. After lunch you have the following options: to visit Khwa ttu - a San people cultural experience (add an extra US$23 per person) which includes: A bush tractor ride and an easy trail walk with a local San guide, a visit to a replica traditional San village, an introduction to the San language, history and culture, a refreshing drink at the boma and an exhibition at the photo gallery, OR visit the West Coast Fossil Park: See the exhibits and learn about the areas rich archaeological history. We also visit the dig site with a site guide to see and learn about the find of densely packed fossils that are 5 million years old. We then head back down the coast with the majestic Table Mountain in our sights. We will stop at Bloubergstrand beach to admire and take photos of the iconic Table Mountain view.
