When British first seized Hong Kong, they did not cover all places. The first settlement of the British Hong Kong government was called “Victoria City”, with various relics and remains of the wall stones and records. The city gradually grew and finally the government ruled over Kowloon and rent New Territories for 99 years. You will pass by a few heritage settlements built in the time of Victoria City. Also you will tour around shop houses and villas where the locals, rich or poor, had once settled. Victoria City was rarely mentioned in any books or at school, even the locals do not know there was a city inside Hong Kong hundred years ago!
