Get the most from the visit of Kampa Museum with the collection of Central European Art of 20th century. During the communism non-conformist art was banned and contacts with Western strictly forbidden. Nevertheless, original and forceful artworks were created which fascinated Western critics later. Not only is it one of the best if not the best gallery in Prague but it is also an interesting architecture located on the picturesque Kampa island with the view of marvellous Charles Bridge. Kampa Museum Collection represents numbers of works by abstract pioneer Czech painter František Kupka, Expressionist and Cubist Czech sculpture Otto Gutfreund and art of the Central Europe. Jindřich Chalupecký Collection (one part of the Kampa Museum Collection)decorated the Prague Castle offices when Václav Havel was a Czech President. Václav Havel as well as Madeleine Albright was also a member of the board of Jan and Meda Mládek Foundation.
