Testmylife Data Privacy Statement
We take the issue of data protection and confidentiality very seriously and observe national and European data protection regulations. The following section provides an explanation of the most important aspects of how our data is stored and processed.
By logging in to www.testmylife.com or by using our Testmylife App, you accept the terms of the Data Privacy Statement outlined below.
1. Collection, processing and use of personal data
Personal data is details about your personal or material circumstances, in particular your name, date of birth, email address, telephone number or postal address. Testmylife collects, processes and utilizes (hereinafter referred to as “uses”) the personal data that you have provided when it is required for establishing, conducting or terminating contractual or similar obligations. Such obligations arise, for example, when you become a member of the Testmylife Community via our www.testmylife.com website or our Testmylife App, offer or make use of an experience, sign up for a newsletter, take part in surveys, contests, competitions, product tests or sweepstakes, or when you contact us in order to acquire information about us or our products. In such cases, we use your personal data in order to offer other members your experience, to inform other members about your interest in the experiences that they are offering and to process your inquiry. You are free to decide whether you provide us with data for the purposes mentioned. Provided that the nature of your inquiry allows it, you can contact us anonymously and/or using a pseudonym. When you conclude a contract with another member relating to an experience, you must provide your contractual partner and us with your real name, your address and, if relevant, your bank details.
For Testmylife, it may be necessary during the processing of your issues to pass on your personal data to other associated companies or external service providers, which may be located in European and non-European third countries. These service providers may have been commissioned, for example, to deal with payment procedures, the distribution of advertising material or the organization of prize competitions. We demand that our external service providers use your personal data only in accordance with our specifications, with this Data Privacy Statement and with legal regulations regarding order data processing.
We do not pass on your data to third parties without your prior consent, neither do we sell or rent data. However, we reserve the right to reveal information about your person if we are legally required to do so or if we are requested to do so by legitimately-acting authorities or law-enforcement bodies.
2. Social networks, e.g. “Facebook”
Our websites and our application (Testmylife App) may use so-called social plug-ins from social networks, in particular the “Like” button from the provider “Facebook”, whose internet presence is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. The German website facebook.de is the responsibility of Facebook Ireland Limited, Hanover Reach, 5-7 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland. The plug-ins are normally labeled with a Facebook logo.
Communication tools from the social network Facebook may also be used, in particular the product Website Custom Audiences. This product generates a non-reversible, non-person-related hash value from your user data that may be passed on to Facebook for marketing and analysis purposes. Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and on the further processing and use of data by Facebook as well as on the possible settings for protecting your privacy is available in the Data Use Policy of Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/ and https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation. If you wish to revoke consent for the use of Facebook Website Custom Audiences, you can do so at https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/
In addition to using Facebook plug-ins, we also reserve the right to integrate plug-ins from “Google+” (Provider: Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) and “Twitter” (Provider: Twitter, Inc., 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103). The following explanations for Facebook apply to these two providers in equal measure. Further information on the use of data at “Google+” and “Twitter” is available at http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/ and http://twitter.com/privacy
When you visit one of our websites or use parts of the Testmylife App that contain a plug-in, your end device creates a connection to the Facebook servers. The information that you are using our website or the Testmylife App is passed on to Facebook, even if you are not logged in to Facebook and irrespective of whether you actually activate or click on the plug-ins.
If you are logged in to Facebook while visiting our website or using the Testmylife App, Facebook can assign the visit to the website or the use of our app to your user account. If you click on the “Like” button, this information is communicated to Facebook and then saved, in particular in order to share the “Like” information with your Facebook friends. This also occurs when you use the “Tell a Friend” or “Share” functions on some of our websites. We have no influence on the type and amount of data that is passed on to Facebook. Further, we do not know which of your data is passed on to Facebook or for which purposes Facebook uses this data. Your IP address is passed on and, according to Facebook, information on the website visited, the date and time of the visit and other browser-related information. Further information on Facebook is available at http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=186325668085084
If you do not want Facebook to assign your visit to our website to your Facebook account, you must log out of your Facebook account before visiting our website or using our app. Further information on the collection, storage and use of your personal data by Facebook as well as on the possible settings for protecting your personal data is available in the Data Use Policy from Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/
3. Contact, access to information, revoking, blocking, deleting
You can, at any time and free of charge, revoke consent for the use of your personal data in future, instigate a full or partial blocking or deletion or demand information on, or rectification of, your personal data that we have stored. To do so, please write to use at the address contained in our website notice (“Imprint”).
Our websites use so-called cookies, small text files that are stored by your browser on the hard drive of your computer. The cookies that we use do not store any personal data, which means that personal identification is not possible.
Cookies for improving the functionality of our websites
Cookies for usage-based online advertising
We reserve the right to use information that we have gathered via cookies from an anonymized analysis of your user behavior on our websites to show you specific advertising for our products on our own websites. We consider this to be beneficial to you as a user, as we display advertisements or content that, on the basis of your surf behavior, we believe suit your interests. This means that the amount of random advertising or content that is of less interest to you is displayed less frequently.
How to prevent cookies from being stored on your hard drive / How to delete cookies
This website uses Google Analytics, a web-analysis service from Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses a specific type of cookies, text files that are saved on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. Cookie-generated information on your use of the website is usually passed on to a USA-based Google server and stored on that server. We would like to point out that, on this website, Google Analytics has been expanded to include the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” in order to guarantee that IP addresses are recorded anonymously (so-called IP masking). Due to the IP anonymization on this website, your IP address is abbreviated by Google within EU boundaries or in signatory states in the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a USA-based Google server and abbreviated there.
If applicable, we also use Google Analytics to evaluate data from AdWords or from a “Double Click” cookie, for statistical purposes. If you are opposed to this, you can deactivate it via the Google Ad Manager at (http://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/?hl=de)
5. Data security
We have taken technical and organizational steps to protect your data from being lost, modified or accessed by third parties.
6. Update and amendment
Parts of this Data Privacy Statement may be amended or updated by us without your being informed in advance. Before using our services, please check the Data Privacy Statement to ensure that you can keep track of any updates and amendments.
